Implementation Grant | MBIE

The New Zealand Government has announced an Implementation Grant for Auckland businesses to action their business plans, for example, implementing and executing their marketing strategies. 

From December 1st, you will be able to apply for an implementation grant of up to $4,000 + GST. In order to the eligible for this grant you business must:

  • Have less than 100 full time employees
  • Be GST registered
  • Have a NZ Business Number (NZBN)
  • Operate in a commercial environment
  • Be privately owned, or are a Maori Trust, or an incorporation under the Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 or similar organisation managing Māori assets under multiple ownership  
  • Primarily operate within the Auckland Alert Level 3 Boundary 
  • Be an existing business that was trading before 22 October 2021. 

Marketing services available under this plan include:

  • Implementation of Marketing Plan 

This includes brand development, channel analysis, customer identification, and value proposition development.

  • Implementation of Digital Marketing Plan

This includes website design, build or upgrade of service based and e-commerce websites, software integration, booking systems, content development, social media management, SEO implementation, digital advertising speed. 

  • Implementation of Digital Marketing Enablement Plan 

This includes implementation of technology and customer management systems, workflow management and online shopping tools. 

Marketing expenses that the grant will not cover

  • Historic payments/invoices
  • Ongoing engagement fees for existing professional services on a contract basis
  • Training services
  • Subscription services and membership fees
  • Capital expenditure

How to apply for the implementation grant:

Step 1 Complete the online registration form 

Step 2 Log in to your Community Account.

Step 3 Request a quote from your service provider and apply for your Implementation Grant support.

Step 4 If application is approved and contracts signed, commence work with selected service provider.

Step 5 Tell them when the work is complete to facilitate payment to your service provider.
